WHO WE ARE
WAITING ROOM is the only magazine for young adults dealing with cancer. We are an information clearinghouse for 15-39 year olds; a serially overlooked, but significant group desperately in need of what we are offering. We are a solitary port in a storm for our readers; a new voice in media for an under-served demographic. We are a community coalescing, demanding the help we need to navigate the most difficult challenge of our lives.
OUR MISSION
WAITING ROOM is the first young-thinking, style-conscious publication about cancer. With bold, provocative content, and featuring cutting edge design and photography WAITING ROOM challenges stereotypes and taboos, changing the way our readers understand and experience cancer. WAITING ROOM is dedicated to providing a resource for anyone in the prime of life touched by cancer.
WHAT WE DO
WAITING ROOM entertains and educates our readers using a new attitude towards cancer. We take the hard issues surrounding cancer and present them in same way that other cutting-edge, youth culture magazines present their focused content. With clever writing from every angle imaginable, constructs our view of cancer as something common to everyone. Dealing with a subject that crosses racial and class boundaries affords us the opportunity to bring normalcy to something that is feared more than anything else in our culture.
