Lance Armstrong Foundation asked Shepard Fairey to do a piece for their show Stages.
Nike Stages Show
Shepard did the piece based on a photo of Jessica Ikenberry (by Andrena Photography) that we used early on in Waiting Room. He has been a great supporter of Waiting Room with his design advice and his encouragement. Jessica has been an inspiration and a cover girl for Waiting Room.
The photos of Jessica on the site and on the banner are by photographer Dave Naz who donated the shoot.
We are lucky to have so many great people on board. New issue coming soon. Stay tuned.
Emma Nelson is casting a television commercial for the breast cancer charity Susan G Komen, www.komen.org.
Susan G. Komen fought breast cancer with her heart, body and soul. Throughout her diagnosis, treatments, and days in the hospital, she spent her time thinking of ways to make life better for other women battling breast cancer. Moved by Susan’s compassion for others and committed to making a difference, Nancy G. Brinker promised her sister that she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever and founded Susan G Komen for the Cure.
Bank of America is working with Susan G Komen by generously supporting its efforts as well promoting their work through a national television commercial.
As part of this effort, Emma Nelson is looking for interested breast cancer survivors to talk to her about their experience first hand. If you, or someone you know has had breast cancer and would like to be part of this project please e-mail Emma at emmanelson1@mac.com or call Emma at 310-804-9506.
This is cool - an event hosted by my friends brother…
My name is Eric Malehorn - This July I will be participating in a charity called “Climb for the Cure” in which I will climb Mt. Rainier to raise money for Breast Cancer Research benefiting the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Your support will help fund cutting-edge research in the prevention, detection and treatment of breast cancer. Fortunately enough, I will not be doing this alone. I, along with four other friends from the Philadelphia area, will be making our way up to the summit as Team Cheesesteaks and Crampons (Crampons; the metal spikes that you attach to your climbing boots so you can climb on glaciers and don’t fall off).
Mount Rainer is the fourth tallest mountain in the Nation. It stands over 14,411 feet above sea level. The climb takes 3 days and consists of over 30 hours of rock, snow, and glacier climbing.
Below is a link to my personal webpage. Please click on the link and donate if you’d like.Information for donations by mail is listed at the bottom. Remember every donation counts. We are trying to raise $30,000 this year, and be the first team ever from the East Coast to climb Mt. Rainier through “Climb for the Cure”

This is a pretty hot event. On May 18, 2008 local Philly breast cancer org - Living Beyond Breast Cancer - will be hosting the 6th annual Yoga Unites for Living Beyond Breast Cancer.
From the LBBC website:
Yoga Unites for Living Beyond Breast Cancer is an annual fundraising event that provides a way for individuals and teams to join the community in supporting women affected by breast cancer while experiencing the healing benefits of yoga. Located on the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art—one of the city’s greatest landmarks—this half-day event includes a basic outdoor yoga class set against the Philadelphia skyline and a Healthy Living Expo.
The LBBC goal is to raise $50,000 and there is still plenty of time to register and get involved. To register for Yoga Unites follow this link.
